The Balal Field is located in the Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf, at approximately 100 kilometers to the South-West (SW) of Lavan Island in a water depth of approximately 67 meters.
The main pay interval is in the Arab-Hith formation, and it is intended to drill 5 wells to produce from this interval at an initial total production rate of 40,000 BOPD. Water injection will ultimately be required for pressure maintenance, and 5 injection wells are planned. Artificial lift using electric submersible pump (ESP) also will be used on the wells.
The produced crude will be transported to Lavan Island by means of a 14 inch sub sea pipeline.
The Offshore complex is comprised of a combined process and living quarter platform (PLQ), a single 15/16 slots drilling/wellhead platform (WHP) and a flare tower, all bridge linked.
